It really all depends on where the stylist is working...whether the salon is upscale or just average. At the salon I work at, there are some stylist that are full time that earn an average of 1,000 dollars a week. So making that $52,000 a year. But thats not including tips. On average, tips can range from $150-300 a week for full time hairstylist. However, hairstylist either get paid commission or they are booth rent. If you get commission, you are getting a percentage of the amount of service you did in that week. For example if you did $2,000 worth of services to your clients, and you get 50% commission, then that means you get $1,000 dollars for that week. Obviously, every salon is different and unfortunately a hairstylists salary is inconsistent. One week they could be super busy and make a ton of money, the next they could be sitting around all day making barely anything. Let me know if you have any more questions.
