only problem is, i won't be able to get it back to natural for ages, especailly as its quite long.
so should i do it or not?

thanksMy hairdresser told me not to dye my hair ever?
Start by dyeing it just a shade or two lighter. If you like it then go another shade or two etc.
Just take it in baby steps so that you don't do a rly big change and end up hating it.My hairdresser told me not to dye my hair ever?
Here's THE ANSWER = highlights! If you get highlights you're overall look will be blonder and every couple of months when you go in for in for a touch up, you have the option of getting complete highlights OR touching up the regrowth. If you get full highlights, the overall look will become even more blond. If you get a touch up the look will stay the same. When you want to return back to your natural state, you can just get a colour bath. A colour bath is complete colour done with a very low volume developer (5Vol). it will only effect your highlights and not your natural hair. No line of demarcation. AND, if you choose, you can change your highlighted hair to a darker colour, but slightly lighter than your natural for a sun kissed look! WALLA...problem solved !
i dyed my hair last year, and i went from blonde to a redish brown. i loved it and it was so fun to have a change. however, after a few months i wanted to go back to my natural color. this was a pain, because i couldn't find my exact natural color, and it took several dyes to get it back to normal. so my advice: go with semi-permanent. if you want to keep that color, you can go with a permanent dye, but that way you don't have to get the change without the annoying process of permanent dye!
i would say don't dye it, because you'll pretty much be dying it for the rest of your life because of roots, and the color fading. and the more you dye it, the more damaged it gets, and the more time you have to spend making it look nice. it's your decision, but from my experience, i wish someone would have told me not to even start. if you reallyy want a change, you should consider temporary dye.
my hair is naturally red. not a strawberry blond tho. it is the red the every one attempts to dye their hair till and it never comes out right. my whole life people have told me not to dye my hair. i get death threats from fam members saying i cant ever dye my hair!!! Random people used to stop me in the st wanting to see my roots when i told them it was natural. i didnt care, tehy could check my roots! But yea, i've never dyed it and im happy i never did cause my hair is pretty cool. And i wont ever dye it!!! I might streak it someday... but i doubt that i ever will.
if you have a unique color, keep it! why would you want to be like everyone else?
Look. I have dyed my hair before three times and i found it a pain to maintain, so I dyed it back to my natural hair colour. To the jet black hair I was born with. And guess what, I haveh ad so many people telling me they wished they had my jet black hair.
Even had the hairdressers telling me they loved my black hair.
So I am sticking with it. And I am going to try to maintain the jet blackness when I get older. (If I need to)
the thing is that with darker hair its harder to accomplish and hard on your hair; could burn and damage it, I would try adding natural high lights first. You would be surprised with the color in natural light how much it will look golden. I, myself am a nutural brunette and the color I use makes my hair look really golden in the sun lite.
It is actually not good to dye your hair because it is unhealthy for it, and if your hairdresser told you to not dye your hair, do what she or he says, becuase they have gone to hair school and know more. I have a friend who has dyed her hair twice, and the second time it didn't turn out good.
do it if you want that colour but if it looks bad then just dye over it and you know not to do it again. but whatever you do don't get it stripped as it causes real damage to your hair.
thats sounds pretty dont dye it unless you want to be a slave to your hair....
don't dye your hair you don't have to dye it blonde. it is your choice anyway brown is a nice hair color
It's what YOU want that matters.
