They take special shears that go through ur hair and cut some of the hair yet leave some. Thus thinning out ur hair. It's not noticeable that some hairs are shorter than others. i dont know the exact technique but i get my hair thinned everytime i cut my hair and i really like it

If you have wavy hair i would NOT recommend thinning scissors it actually creates more frizz in the hair. You are better getting it thinned just with the flat blade of normal scissor it wont split the hair shaft and will sit smoother. Contact me if you dont understand.
they pick up smal strands of hair and snip them in a slant kind of a way..a hairdresser (french hot shot one) once did it to my hair without as much as warning me
Hairdressers thin out hair using either a razor, thinning shears or our scissors, depending what you need done. Most hairdressers do not thin out thick hair as by thinning out the hair you are making some hairs short and some hairs long therefore your shorter hairs are holding up and out the longer hairs making the illusion of more hair!


This is usually used on people with thinning hair to give the illusion of more hair... most time simple layering does the trick.

first they cut it the way u want and then they have a special scissors that thins ur hair
