Like i only bother with my hair if i am going outDon`t you hate it when the hairdresser asks if you are going out tonight?
Yes! And I hate it that they always have more clients than time and flit from one to another leaving you with your head wrapped in a wet towel and you're catching cold. So, even if you were going out, you'll be sneezing your head off by the time evening comes.Don`t you hate it when the hairdresser asks if you are going out tonight?
Exactly! It makes you feel like you looked like a scruffy scum ball when you walked in and only have your hair washed at the hairdressers!
No i don't,its a common question,if you want you answer if not u don't,so what's the deal?:P
Well, I do feel kind of funny about it, but, I will always answer honestly and say, ';nope, just doing it for me.';
I would rather have a hairdresser talk to me than pure ackward silence. I wouldn't care if someone asked me if I was going out when I was getting my hair done. I am sure its just a way to get a conversation going. If you want my opinion, sounds like you are getting sensitive for no apparent reason. Who really cares if they ask you that? I'm sure they aren't implying your hair is a mess, etc. Ease up!
I cut my own ! thats why i wear this hat.
no , dats never happened to me!:)
I hate it when she goes on about the latest soap or big brother as if its somekind of law that everyone should watch it i always surpirse her when i say no i don't and she just shuts up after that.
My hair dresser know that my hair cuts and coloring are usually scheduled around when I'm going out of town to a dog show, or going to be swimming a lot. My next appointment is two days before an out of town wedding.
When she knows what's coming up she can give me better the cut that will be at its best for that event.
i hate it when hairdressers speak to me at all, its none of their business if I'm going on holiday or what my weekend plans are.
another thing is when they say very loudly ';ooh what lovely thick hair you have!'; then everyone in the salon turns to look and all the staff come over like its some kind of freak show.
Yes, I hate it - any she says it EVERY time I get my hair cut!!
i actually liked it, when i was single and they asked me ';oh you going anywhere nice tonight';? i used that as an opportunity to hit on them. i struck gold 90 percent of the time. but it meant having to change hair dressers quite a bit
I have never been asked that question. But then a short back and sides doesn't leave much time for chatter anyway. And when he's shaving the bakc of my neck I want him to be concentrating, thank you very much.
The only related thing I have ever been asked was when I got to be about 15 and my barber asked me if I needed anything for the weekend. For a 15 year-old boy, it is confirmation that you have become a man.
,,,ask them if they offering to buy you dinner-then they probably wont ask again,,,
It may be just small talk, but getting a new style or cut is common just before a special night out. No offense intended, I am sure.
Yes, I am a former hairdresser.
Absolutely! LOL
I would prefer them to shut up entirely. I like to spend the time having my hair done in silence as it is 'me' time and life's too hectic as it is without empty conversation.
Its just small talk really.
Oh yes, and when he asks where I'm going on holiday. He's a great bloke and talks non stop, wants to know the ins and outs of a cat's whatsit, but when you go there the next time he can never remember what he's talked about and asks it all again. I suppose it's having so many regular customers he can't keep up with the gossip especially from the blue rinse brigade that call in for their weekly wash and set!
i hate having conversations with hairstylists.
i mean, make small talk thats fine.
but sometimes they want to be your best friend and ask things that are just rediculous for someone i know only from getting my hair cut!
i see what you're saying about asking if you're going out.
you would assume they dont mean it to be as if they were saying thats the only reason you're getting your hair done.
Either that or, have you got a boyfriend? or going on holiday?
My answer is always no, so I have to lie.
he doesnt...we talk about other stuff...i dont go much to the hd
they ask so as to know whether to puff your hair up ANOTHER 5 inches on top of the usual Billy-bouffant 'do they give you. volume is not always a good thing.
They are just trying to make conversation....would you prefer a deathly silence....or what do you want them to talke about?
oh hiya, did you know the girl round the corner from my sister's cousins boyfriend's having a baby, yeh and she's only 15. what is it today shampoo cut and blow dry, ooo are are you going out tonight? -
is that the sort of thing you mean - no it's never happened to me before
But you can have it done differently if your going out
yea cuz its none of their business
Yeah, cos I never am, and then i feel like a complete saddo!
Who cares?
I hate it more when my hairdresser gets ';hurt'; that I decide to color my own hair, or get it cut somewhere else for convenience.
Well if you don't enjoy chatting with them.
You can always just close your eyes %26amp; sleep else keep yourself busy reading the magazines.
Most hairdressers just want to chat to get to know their customers to make an impact, to get to know them better %26amp; out of common courtersy. It'll be dull standing, tending to the hair %26amp; no feedbacks.
Sometimes, I'll chat wth them. But whn. I'm tired. I'll tell them I'm not feeling well or I'll just take a nap, do wake me up when I'm done.
It doesn't hurt to be polite nor chat wth them after all, they are ';servicing your hair';. I love it sometimes they will throw in some tips %26amp; give me some samples of hair products FOC.
My friend once encountered a guy hairdresser that ask her if she just broke up wth her boyfriend, coz she wanted to cut off her long locks. tht kinda surprised her..%26amp; she broke down to cry coz. she just broke up wth her bf.
